Had a good time as usual this week at Tiny Rebel. Got quite a few games in and was even successful at bringing a few colleagues to play as well. I think a couple of them were initially hesitant at the seemingly complex rules of some of the games but as happens most of the time a few rounds passing cleared things up.

We kicked off by playing one of my favourites – The Sheriff of Nottingham. There was bluffing and bragging from the start, which is usually an indication that it’s going to be a fun, raucous game. And indeed it was. It ended up being a very tight game, with me placing a close second before we counted out the final stage of victory points (awarded to who had the most of each resource), which just nudged me to victory.

Then we played Codenames. Another close game resulted in the other team correctly guessing an incredibly tenuous clue and stealing the victory right from under our collective nose. Only one mistake was made the whole game, and that was thanks to a bad clue from me.
After this we played the bean trading and farming game Bohnanza. Most people found it particularly fun when they learned how to screw their opponents over. Let’s just say I came to regret declaring myself the king of The Sheriff of Nottingham following my earlier victory..

And finally we played the wonderfully elegant Tsuro. I was the first out, while two of my colleagues were the last remaining players and finally the last player was eliminated with only one tile away from completing the board.
Overall a great way to start the week and a rather good antidote to Mondays!
