Anyway, without further ado....

This session kicked off with three fully formed characters ready do get their adventuring on, like Donkey Kong.

Being a bit pushed for time meant that we had to just jump right into it, which meant employing the much overused mission seed of "your agent calls you in for a job".

The premise was this: all of the 'real' Coffin Crushers were out of town, in repair or otherwise engaged. A stranger arrives at the castle claiming that he and his friend were exploring some cave systems, found some kind of underground bunker and a cave in caused his friend to get trapped in there, with only a solid steel door between him and a pack of vampires.

The agent got wind of this, and passed the mission along to the PCs on the condition that anything of value that is found he takes a 50% cut and that they bring back the trapped friend to him directly upon rescue.

Setting off from the citadel, had the PCs looked behind them they would have seen multiple rows of walls, the more affluent and powerful areas in the centre and higher up, descending to the poor and feeble closer to the external city walls and the dangers beyond.

The road become a path, the path became a trail and dusk began to settle. Alex rolled high and found an abandoned outbuilding, with walls, a door and even a roof. They agreed to take turns keeping watch whilst the others slept.

The moon was not the only thing out that night.. The first two shifts passed uneventfully (although hidden dice rolls kept the players on their toes). The third was when the ghouls decided to attack.

Terris scored another high roll and, despite the ghouls' best efforts at sneakyness, heard the tell-tale sounds of poorly executed sneaking.

"Get up, wake up, wake up!" Terris bellowed, moments before the door split into smithereens. Charging the breach was the ugliest, the meanest and the first ghoul the party had ever seen.

Tune in next time to find out what happened to our band of plucky adventures in Coffin Crushers RPG!
