Just a quick update of our Thursday Cardiff Boardgame Group. This week Gareth and I played for the first time my new game: Arkham Horror Living Card Game.

We got off to a decent start using the recommended characters (I was Roland and Gaz was Wendy), but by turn 2 things started to go downhill... Luckily Gaz got Wendy's Amulut down early on, and I pulled Roland's revolver but had to discard it straight after thanks to the encounter deck! And I got stuck with this:

We ended up getting destroyed - but had fun playing the training mission. One thing that bugged us both was the layout of the manuals - normally FFG do a good job of explaining their games but the way info is scattered across the rule books make learning the game a bit of a pain. I can see how it the rule books would function much better as references once you've learned the game and want a rules clarification. We would absolutely recommend having someone teach you the game in person as you play - which we'd be more than happy to do at our regular Thursday Cardiff Board Game Group. Give us a shout and we'll make sure we have it with us!

Whilst trying to resist insanity under the weight of Cthulu's twisted machinations we also saw Mint Works, Betrayal at the House on the Hill and King of Tokyo (to name a few) being played by other attendees.
We are a growing group and everyone here is super friendly - don't be a stranger, come and join us for fun times!
