The only time I ever played Shadows over Camelot with 7 players was with some friends, a couple I didn't know, and the 16 year old son of this couple. I was currently pregnant with my first child and I knew at that moment, that if in 16+ years I was sat around a table playing boardgames with my own child that I could consider myself a successful parent.

5 year old playing The Magic Labyrinth

It's only 5 or so years later and both my children, but particularly the eldest, are turning into geeks. I can't play a boardgame without them trying to get involved. The 5 year old is a whiz at computer games like Mario, and can already beat me at Patchwork (albeit with regular reminders of the rules).

I'm currently having to battle the issues of being a bad loser and getting impatient when the game doesn't go according to plan, but it's early days yet. However I couldn't be more proud in the little geek that I am helping to develop. I'm looking forward to seeing how the next decade of geekiness goes.
