This board game, and I use the term loosely, is actually a deck building game that is both competitive as well as Co-Op.

During the game you start off with base hero cards some with printed stars that are worth money and some printed attack that you used to fight enemies. Throughout the game you may spend your stars/money to recruit other hero cards to build your deck and improve it as you go along. You will encounter various types of villains as well as henchmen which are typically easier to kill.

During the game you have 2 objectives. A scheme, which is a random scenario, and a Mastermind card. To win the game you must defeat the Mastermind four times, once for each tactic card that he/she has. While doing this you have to make sure to not lose to the random scheme card, making the game more difficult in the process.

The game is for 2 to 5 players and you work collectively to defeat the villains as well as the Mastermind. The catch with this game is, once you've won, everyone counts the victory points that are printed on the enemies that they have defeated throughout the game. Whoever has the most is the ultimate victor of the game.

The game has many expansions but the core game is playable without them. There is even a villain's expansion which lets you fight against heroes and play as villains. That version is compatible with the main game, but others may choose to leave it out.

My personal set up is all of the hero expansions, without the villain expansion. But that's just personal preference. I think the game is easy to it understand once you play through it. 4*/5*

Below are the Hero expansions.

*Note Wold War Hulk does not release til Aug 2018.
