Risk of Rain - 2D Action, great tunes and awesome swag!

So I’ve clocked an ungodly amount of hours with this game. How many, I hear you asking.... well, that is between me and Steam. But let’s just say I’ve got my money’s worth.

Although at £6.99 how much CAN you ask for?

You get an action Rogue-like platformer with a sublime soundtrack to serenade your high octane level clearing and equipment hoarding.

Difficulty increases over time presenting you with the dilemma between progressing as quickly as possible to keep the challenge manageable or to collect every last item you can find until you’ve more gear than Inspector Gadget and a Swiss Army Knife’s lovechild.

On each level there is a teleporter which upon activation initiates a countdown during which enemies spawn in addition to the level boss. Surviving this time and killing all monsters enables teleportation to next level.

You’ll be jumping, shooting and dying a lot - but after each time you get killed you’ll want another go in search of that perfect loadout and a speedy run.

Each playthrough can unlock more items and upgrades, a swathe of characters greatly expands replayability and the wonderful ‘Special Delivery’ mod opens the game up even more.

For the low, low price of £6.99 you can’t go wrong. I strongly recommend getting your hands on this little gem as you probably won’t be disappointed.
