Let me start off by saying I fucking love Star Wars and Star Trek. I can't remember the amount of times I have seen the old movies, TV series and now along with the new movies and Star Trek episodes on Netflix its wonderful to see more people enjoy both world.
In my last break it down I did a Venom Ink drawing and really enjoyed breaking down each element and showing how the stages come together. So here is another I did for a group of friends a couple years ago when the Star wars movies got rebooted. The premises was simple, rent out a place and pretty much play every single Star Wars movie in a massive Star Wars Movie Marathon.

First job was to get all the amazing bits of DVD/Poster art for all the films and put them together, getting ones of similar style I thought would work best.

Next putting them in a row seemed like the best method to show them all off.

I didn't just want to have the standard image posters so I thought adding a few layers of effects would look cool.

Because how how I cut each image into blocks, some of the text on each art was cut off so I needed to have another way of showing which movies are which. I coloured these in a simple way and hopefully with the rest of the poster coming together this wouldn't be noticed too much.

Simple method of showing the Star Wars movie numbers, nothing too complex here.

At this point I had the idea of Books on a shelf on my head, and considering the way I did the Roman Star Wars numerals, I added a bit of depth to each image.

Darth Vader is such a big point in all these movies I thought it be best to find a really cool power photo and have that as the main focus point.

I wanted more of a Star Wars space feel, so added some reflections on the "books" and added a classic space photo with a pretty simple border.

With Darth Vader put back in, the final poster is pretty much done I think.

Found a Star Wars font and typed "the saga continues"

At this point all I needed was to add the info to all the Star Wars Marathon night. It still had a bunch of space at the bottom so I thought having some funny reviews of the event would work well.
And that's it for another break it down. I still have a few more bits which I can break down and talk about. Until then ;)
