The Sketch Card Artist.

Hi Fanagram followers. Just wanted to introduce myself as a new blogger on the site. My name is Alex Mines and I am an artist based in Newport. I pretty much solely draw Geek and Pop Culture stuff so wanted to share some of the art I create with you.
Over the past 18 months I have been lucky enough to be invited to create sketch cards for a number of companies in the US. Through this I have been able to create officially licensed art work for a number of properties you may have heard of including Star Wars, The Walking Dead, Rick & Morty, Aliens and Stranger Things.
The sketch cards I create are 1 of 1 collectible pieces of art. They are all hand drawn and measure 2.5" x 3.5" and are randomly inserted into packs of trading cards which are sold like our football cards here in the UK.
The collectors market in the US is massive, where packs of cards can contain autographs, sketch cards and movie relics. Some of the cards can be found on Ebay selling for $1000's (not mine yet unfortunately!)
Over the coming weeks....months....(maybe years!) I hope to be able to post examples of the work I create and the processes and materials I use to create them. I will also show examples of some of the other work I create including illustrations and paintings, Sketch Covers and more!
